The Burmese government is still going easy on Indian separatists though it has given “the usual assurance of action” to Indian officials, according to a senior Indian military officer. Unlike Bhutan and Bangladesh that have cracked down hard on Indian rebel armies, Burma has instead asked them to move to “safer locations”. Some are moving to locations along Burma’s border with China, according to Indian intelligence officials. (Asian Times)

Kachin spokesman La Nan says Burma Army troops keep arriving by land and boats with an estimated 30,000 soldiers from light infantry divisions 44, 77, 88 and 99.
